FAQs

  • How will I stay warm & cozy at Wildhaven?

To stay warm and cozy, every tent and cabin at Wildhaven is equipped with either a heater or heated mattress pads to keep your sleeping space snug. You can also enjoy a private fire pit at every site, perfect for roasting marshmallows and staying warm under the stars.

  • Does Wildhaven get snow? How are road conditions?

Wildhaven Yosemite sits at 2,300 feet elevation, well below the 4,000 foot elevation in Yosemite valley. We typically get 2-3 lighter snowfalls each season which melt quickly.

Highway 140 into the park is well-maintained in the winter, but you may need to put chains on your vehicle during heavy snowfalls. Chains are readily available in Mariposa 1 mile away. You can always check road conditions here or call us at 209-225-9225.

  • What wintertime fun can I find in Mariposa?

Many wintertime guests never even venture into the park, or just head in for one day. They've heard about all the activities in our charming gold rush town, including:

    • Dining: Smokin' Oak BBQ and 1850 Brewery are favorites
    • Drinks: Besides our brewery and winery (Casto Oaks), we've got local mead and 3 impressive tap rooms
    • Museums: Choose from 3, including a very unique climbing-focused spot
    • Shopping: Mariposa's quaint Main street, has some fun spots,  just 1 mile away
    • Hiking: The Stockton Reservoir trail leaves right from town and is kid and dog-friendly.
